Wyre Forest Patient and Carers Cancer Group

Aims/Purpose of Group:

Wyre Forest Patient and Carers Group is an advisory group that looks at all aspects of Cancer Services in our area.  The group is made up of representatives from many Cancer groups and Proffessionals.  We are not a support group...but aim to address issues raised by Patients and Carers directly to where action can be taken, to Board level if necessary

Examples of Previous Achievements

We have been involved with other groups , and the wider community in keeping a Chemotherapy Treatment facility within Wyre Forest and pushing it's redevelopment, which has been successful, with the refurbished unit now open.

We have also been influential in securing an information POD in Kidderminster, funded by Macmillan which is proving to be very useful to patients, carers and the general public, offering advice on all aspects of Cancer.

Current Work Programme

As a small but active group, we are looking for new members, and looking for new ways to attract membership.

We are committed to keeping all current services locally, and attracting new services, where possible.
