Dudley PACT
Aims/Purpose of Group

Dudley PACT aims to provide a forum in which those affected by cancer as patient, carer or otherwise are provided with an opportunity to interact with health professionals and to raise their concerns and thanks where appropriate with the health professionals. The health professionals have an opportunity to explain to patients and carers what their aims and objectives are and any restrictions within which they are working. They are also able to showcase new developments in healthcare.
Examples of previous achievements:
The group has had success in improvements in the experience of waiting for appointments. The system of giving prescriptions to daycase patients has improved. The issue of car park charges is being kept as a live issue. The problem of students in consultations without any explanation or introduction or request has been raised with consultants.
Current Work programme:
We are organising an integrated, comprehensive Patient Information Pack. This will be used by key workers, CNSs and others for both new and existing cancer patients. We are continuing our campaign on parking charges. We are also keeping oversight on the waiting experience of patients waiting for both consultations and for chemotherapy.
Meeting Dates/Times/Location:
We meet at 10 a.m. at the Kingswinford Community Hall every couple of months for a two hour meeting.
