Network Information

The GMCN serves the populations of Shropshire, Staffordshire, Black Country, Wyre Forest and parts of Powys. The Network has membership of eight Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) and a Welsh Local Health Board (LHB)

The principal objective of the Network is to support the delivery of the Cancer Reform Strategy.  Specifically, the Network has a programme of service development for all aspects of cancer including  prevention, screening/risk-management, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, genetics, research, supportive and specialist palliative care.

The Network structures enable the PCTs to make collective decisions about services provided for populations larger than an individual PCT and together with Provider Trusts monitor their performance.
